As a game tester, computer programmer, or anything in computer sciences, fractions are very important. We use scale in developing all programs. Scale involves percentages and decimals. For example, in a video game, if I made a tunnel or a walkway, scale would be used. Also, when we make buttons, controls are linked to those buttons through decimal scales. Fields are broken into fractional parts as well. Computer scientists also need to have knowledge of percentages when looking at the the amount of storage, or time the project needs. I hope this answers some of your questions.
