Hi,may name is Chance. Do you use fractions to figure out how much to feed the animals?
Chance,
Yes, we do use fractions when we feed the animals. Each animal has a specific diet, and we measure food by using pounds, cups, ounces, and several otehr units of measure. Each of these measurements are hardly ever rounded to a whole number, so we use decimals and fractions to measure them out. We also use fractions, deciamls, and percents when we measure an animal's body fat, and measurements. Zoologists keep a running log of the amount af food the animals eat, and how much activity they do as well. I hope this ansers some of your questions, and feel free to check the internet for extra information!
